Pole Vault Worldwide Champion

Nikoleta Kyriakopoulou (Greek: Νικολέτα Κυριακοπούλου, born March 21, 1986) is a Greek pole vaulter. Her friends call her Nikol. She won the bronze medal at the World Championship in Beijing in 2015. During the 2015 season she set five Greek records (indoor and outdoor) raising the bar to 4,83 meters. The same year, she became the first Greek athlete to win the IAAF Diamond League Overall Ranking in pole vault.

Her first success in a major event was in 2012, when she won the bronze medal at the European Championship in Helsinki. She also won the 2009 Mediterranean Games with a Games record of 4.50 meters.

Nikol is ranked 2nd in the All Athletics “World Rankings” and 3rd at the “IAAF Top List” for 2015, while she also climbed to the 6th place at the “All Time List” for woman pole vault.

Nikol’s club is “AGES Kameiros 2009”, based in Rhodos island and her coach is Mr. Manolis Karagiannis, who is training Nikol since she was 16 years old.
